Git Yer Star-Lord On!

Unashamedly amazed and excited Marvel Studios picked Guardians of the Galaxy for their next movie project. Amazed? Pleasantly stunned is more like it! Guardians of the Galaxy and the Marvel Cosmic renaissance of the last 10 years provided some of my favorite entertainment, on the printed page or beyond. Hoping James Gunn & company do Keith Giffen, Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning's runs with these characters justice. This new trailer gives me hope, even if long ago RAH taught me TANJ...

There's something about the character of Star-Lord that connected with me immediately. The way he was sort of mysteriously introduced in the Annihilation mini-series made me want to go back and find out more about - and read more stories with - Star-Lord. So I did. And since I'm an occasional journalist, I got in touch with the guys who helped create the character - folks like Steve Englehart and Chris Claremont - to find out more about Peter Quill - aka "Star-Lord".

You can read the four part "history" of the character at Comic Related. The most recent installment covers the coming-together of the characters that would go on to make up the Guardians of the Galaxy. Then dive on deep back into the characters origins in the 1970s in the earlier parts:
