Had not intended to release this short story ever again. It originally appeared in the now out-of-print anthology Hunting Ghosts. The story has been pulled apart and woven into Alibi Jones and the Hornet's Nest, used and altered in some ways to fit into the context of the novel. You can now enjoy it, once again, in its original form.

After writing the original short story that turned into The Vatican Assassin Trilogy, to work further on the piece I wanted – needed – to extrapolate how we got from the end of the 1990's to the year 2109 when the novel begins. Some of this background material has been released in The Vatican Assassin Index. These excerpts from that collection tell the supposed future from 2020 through the 2070's. There's also some of BC's Biography and The Alien Timeline.
