The Adventures of Alibi Jones - New Issue Out Now from GITDR Comics! (Press Release)

Glow-in-the-Dark Radio Comics Proudly Presents A New Issue of The Adventures of Alibi Jones!

Independent Vermont Publisher Shares Self-Contained Science Fiction Story Alibi Jones: Christmas Present - A Time-Travel Tale With An Unusual Family Holiday Encounter...

(BURLINGTON, Vermont - December 2019) Independent Comic Creator Mike Luoma and Glow-in-the-Dark Radio Comics, the Independent Vermont Publisher, proudly announce the release of the third issue in their ongoing series The Adventures of Alibi Jones!

The issue features Alibi Jones: Christmas Present, where Alibi Jones accidentally travels back through time to when his father BC was a young hitman for the Vatican on an early mission. Will Alibi screw up BC's current assassination assignment? Will BC kill him instead? Can Alibi Jones survive and get back to his own time? In time for Christmas? And how about that Christmas Tree his Aunt Anita asked for?

It's a time-travelling tale with holiday overtones. As for the title? A Present can be a gift. One can be Present. And live in the Present. The story explores all these permutations... presently.

Vermont Artist Kasey Bouchard makes his debut here, illustrating the pages set in Alibi's Present. For the pages that take place in Alibi's Past - in the time of BC, the Vatican Assassin - the art team from VATICAN ASSASSIN: The Graphic Novel returns! Cristian Navarro is on pencils and inks and Juan Carlos Quattordio on colors, and having them back together to tell the part of the tale that takes place in that era with BC is pretty special.

There's also a beautiful portrait towards issue's end of a cat-like alien Dakhur by award-winning Canadian illustrator Eric Orchard (Maddy Kettle, Bera the One-Headed Troll). And an Alibi Jones pin-up by artist Federico Guillen (Good Samaritan: Unto Dust, other Alibi Jones covers).

The cover art this issue is by renowned Vermont Artist Blair D. Shedd, best known for his covers for Doctor Who and Robotech comics.

Creator and author Mike Luoma also lettered, edited and produced this issue.

Though the title character also appears in novels written by Luoma, the intent with the Alibi Jones' comics is to create stand-alone adventures that don't require greater knowledge of the cast of characters involved.

"I want people to be able to pick up this issue and enjoy this story, no matter what they might have read before," Luoma said. "Those who have read other Alibi Jones stories will get a little more out of it, that's only natural. But new readers will still have all they need to enjoy the tale."

Luoma explained that, while newcomers will be aware this is a "lived-in" universe, they won't be confused by too much extraneous detail. "What you need to enjoy this story is right here, on these pages."

Luoma is also a podcaster - he's been narrating his fiction on his long-running, weekly Glow-in-the-Dark Radio podcast since 2006. Coinciding with the release of the new comic, he featured an audio adaptation of Alibi Jones: Christmas Present on the podcast over the weekends of December 8th and 15th, 2019.

The Adventures of Alibi Jones #3 by Mike Luoma, Kasey Bouchard, Cristian Navarro and Juan Carlos Quattordio, published by Glow-in-the-Dark Radio Comics, is available now digitally at comiXology.com and at DriveThruComics.com and in print and digital at IndyPlanet.com.

You Need SPEED...

Artificial Intelligence... The Internet of Things... The Cloud... Blockchain... The 4th Industrial Revolution? Beyond the buzzwords - how is technology changing business, culture, and our lives? This isn't science fiction - this is happening right now.

Aleksander Poniewierski's brilliant new book SPEED: No Limits in the Digital Era painlessly guides us into our new age of interconnectivity, making it easy to understand just how fast things are changing, and where we're headed. Employing a light automotive metaphor and providing historical context from our previous three Industrial Revolutions, the book is a great read - Alex knows his stuff! It's thoroughly researched as well, and includes commentary from leaders and experts from Google, Cisco Systems, Apple, IBM, EY, the European Commission, NATO, Tribal Planet, and Harvard.

The SPEED of the title is more than metaphorical. For Alex, it's an acronym illustrating his approach to navigating the new technological landscape. SPEED is

Security
Partnership
Emerging technologies
Economy
Digital transformation

The chapters each break down where we've been, where we are now, where we're going, and how we should get there, in light of these subjects. It is well written. Part of that lies in how well organized it is. And yet, the structure doesn't stifle the storytelling aspects of Alex's work - he entertains as he instructs, his authorial voice consistently mindful of keeping the attention of his reading/listening audience, even while relating occasionally dry information.

It was a pleasure to embody that voice for the Audiobook!

Please check out the new Audiobook for SPEED, narrated by yours truly - Mike Luoma - available now on Audible, AMAZON, and iTUNES.

The Eldred have begun attacking – the interstellar war is on! BC's trap worked on some of the Eldred forces, cutting their first wave in half – still leaving thousands to face in battle. Re-Learning History - Articles

With new scientific methods being applied and new discoveries every day, what we call "history" is changing all the time. In these articles, Mike looks at some of our newer knowledge...

Re-Learning History - Discovery of 210,000 Year Old Human Skull in Greece Highlights Changing Timeline for Humankind’s Origins. What we now know about ancient human beings is very different than what most of us were taught in school? This isn’t because of ancient aliens or lost civilizations, or any other wildly speculative, theoretical imagining. It’s science — we’ve simply learned much more about our human origins in recent years. Since most of us aren’t in school anymore, we don’t always get the chance to learn the new stuff. And history? It’s always changing. There’s always something new to learn, even when the questions don’t change...

Our Emerging Ancestors — The Denisovans. - New Discoveries Reveal Details About Early Humans. Who are the Denisovans? A branch of humankind contemporary with our early Modern Human ancestors and the Neanderthals has gone from unknown to new sensation, with scientific and archaeological discoveries in the headlines each week. Breakthroughs in applied genetics and other new technologies are giving archaeologists futuristic tools for examining our distant past. They’re using them to learn as much as they can about these newly discovered ancient humans — and about ourselves — as we have discovered traces of Denisovan DNA within our own Modern Human genome...

The Eldred Attack!

Here they come. It's all out interstellar war! BC prepared the Solar Alliance the best he could, including setting a major trap for the attacking forces of The Eldred. The last of the Ancient Enemy, Dolomay, also waits for his chance to strike humankind... If you like science fiction adventure, battles in space, and all that good stuff, join us for Chapter Nineteen of Vatican Abdicator, written and narrated by host Mike Luoma.
