The Glow-in-the-Dark Radio Blend on Spotify

Exploring the many different ways to bring you music experiences... check out the new Glow-in-the-Dark Radio Weekly Playlist on Spotify!

There's a deliberate, artistic flow built into the playlist - please listen through at least the first time, before shuffling.Selections aren't restricted by radio format or music genre, though this is a rock-based playlist, and most selections come from the worlds of rock, alternative, adult alternative and progressive rock.

There are several new songs in the mix - The Moondoggies "Easy Coming" off their brand-new album A Love Sleeps Deep leads us into the mix and sets the initial tone - I love this song! Just started listening to the full album - pretty solid so far, a couple listens in, beautiful work.

The new songs in this mix that I haven't told you about before you'll probably find in my Song of the Day Spotlight soon.

Speaking of telling you about stuff, back in January, I told you how blown away I was by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard's Polygondwanaland. The three songs here are, in truth, three parts of one longer song - they run right together - the title track into "The Castle in the Air" into "Dunes..."

The rest, I'll let speak for themselves. At least for now.

Let me know what you think! Comment here, below, or on facebook or Twitter. Thanks for listening!

Shining A Light On... Jon Anderson and Roine Stolt "Invention of Knowledge"

This is the first in my new Glow-in-the-Dark Radio series "Shining A Light On..." where I get into new releases you might not hear on traditional radio. As the music director of a very cool Adult Album Alternative radio station, The Point (http://pointfm.com), I receive a ton of new releases all the time. Only a fraction of those end up garnering airplay, even on a station as adventurous as ours.

This occasional column will cover those worth mentioning and checking out - even if they're not destined for radio airplay. I'll include videos where available and links to Amazon or other outlets for purchasing - as I'm in Vermont, which doesn't allow it, these are not affiliate links and I earn no money from them. Just so you know.

Wanted to begin with an album that came out at the end of June, Jon Anderson (Yes) and Roine Stolt (Flower Kings) have teamed up to create a new album in the tradition of Jon's older work - Yes music. And Invention of Knowledge in some ways does sound like a new Yes album, or perhaps a newly discovered lost Yes album released some time around Relayer in the mid 1970's. The Yes album it is drawing the most comparisons to, thanks to the instrumentation and lyrical content is Tales from Topographic Oceans, though that is such a singular and unique work it is perhaps folly to draw too close a comparison.

I'd rather not dance too much about architecture, so take a listen to this official release of "Knowing" and see what you think...

If that suits you, pick up the whole album and enjoy some of the finest Yes music made in years! One note... If Chris Squire were still alive, I wouldn't call this Yes music, but only out of respect for Squire. With him gone, it's really Jon who carries this torch now, and in some ways he's always been the spiritual center of Yes, which is where this album resides.

You can find Jon Anderson/Roine Stolt Invention of Knowledge now at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Invention-Knowledge-Anderson-Stolt/dp/B01EWEG7DS

BC Talks to God...

...Maybe.

BC is still a prisoner of the religious cult squatting the abandoned Fortune Station - they're dosing his food with poisons and mind-altering drugs, messing with his mind - hard to say what's real, what isn't - what BC's mind is creating and what he's actually experiencing. That's for you to decide...

It's 2109 and BC kills people - or tries to kill people - for the pope of the New catholic Church. But BC's mission to assassinate the cult's leader "The Light" isn't going so well...

Glow-in-the-Dark Radio Comics Now at Graphic.ly!

Mike Luoma here - creator and publisher behind Glow-in-the-Dark Radio Comics - happy to announce that we've now partnered with Graphicly to make Glow-in-the-Dark Radio Comics more readily and easily available to read on your iPhone, smart phone, iPad or any tablet or computer!

The thing that impresses me about Graphic.ly is their "flow" - they adapt comics, it's not just a pdf download - their flow brings up parts of the digital "page" as the story flows along, highlighting and popping up individual panels and dialog without sacrificing the comic book "feel".

If you've never tried Graphic.ly it's worth checking out. There is a Graphic.ly app for Adobe Air that lets you read them on your PC, so this isn't just for techies.

Right now, you can get Panthea Obscura: Deifornication through Graphic.ly. Each of the issues is 99 cents and features full-color art by Juan Carlos Quattordio with lettering by Pablo Lizalde. The cover to issue one features art by guest artists Ethan Slayton and Mike Sellers.

You'll find Glow-in-the-Dark Radio Comics at Graphic.ly here: http://graphicly.com/glow-in-the-dark-radio-comics

I'm just beginning to get my books up on their site. As they DO work to adapt the books they offer through their site and apps, it takes a little bit of time to get titles up and running, but my experience with them has been fantastic so far. And more titles are coming!
