Finding Finder

Audio science fiction! The Adventures of Alibi Jones continue on Glow-in-the-Dark Radio with chapter six of Alibi Jones and the Sunrise of Hur. Meet one of my favorite new characters: Finder. He's kind of like The Dude meets Tommy Chong. Finder doesn't find things himself so much as he finds people who can get their hands on the things he needs to track down - or they find him. In tribute to some of my artist friends, Alibi meets Finder on the beach in Mar del Plata, Argentina.

Had a lot of fun recording this chapter, doing the voice for Finder, and voicing Alibi reacting to the man. Add in a brief Wentworth appearance towards the end and the pilot Drex throughout and there are a lot of character voices going on here. Hope you enjoy the interpretation!

Finder has appeared before, actually, in my audio short story ALIBI JONES & THE WISHING STONE. That's in the audio anthology The Adventures of Alibi Jones: Six Short Stories which, although it came out last year, takes place after the new novel. ALIBI JONES AND THE WISHING STONE w/art by Meisha will appear next year in The Adventures of Alibi Jones #2 from Earthbound Comics.

Artist Sought For 12 Page Science Fiction Comic

I've just finished the script for a 12 page comic book story featuring my character Alibi Jones. Now I need an artist to help me bring it to life! It will be published in The Adventures of Alibi Jones #2 from Earthbound Comics. I'm also the letterer and do the production work. I'd like to find someone who does both pencils and inks – that way the team is close to complete (Earthbound works with some good color people, so that's not essential).

With Earthbound we don't make anything up front, but we do get an issue, back end percentage, and copies at cost for local and con sales. Not perfect but not bad. Working with them is kind of a cooperative effort. I've liked working with Earthbound. If you're on pencils and inks, you're my collaborator on this story, in for 49% of the IP aside from the previously created characters and designs. That means anything more happens with this story, you're part of it.

I'll also create an audio version of the story to help promote it, and distribute it on my Glow-in-the-Dark Radio podcast, found each week on iTunes and at ComicRelated.com.

You Should Listen To John Fullbright Make Music

One of the reasons I love being the Music Director at The Point is that I still, even after all these years of listening to music, STILL come across new stuff, fresh new releases that blow me away. Right now, it's the music made by this young guy out of Oklahoma, John Fullbright. He writes some great songs, and his delivery is just plain real.
The music is rooted in folk, some label it "Americana", but like the best music it confounds any label immediately after it's applied. I could compare John Fullbright to a lot of people to try to give you some reference points, but I feel like that does him a disservice - as soon as you think, "Oh, he's like (fill in the blank)," suddenly, he's not.
Sometimes, I get new releases a little early. A couple weeks ago, I put this new album From the Ground Up on in my car, driving around, driving to work, driving home - the CD player conveniently starts over with #1 - and I've played the first track from the album "Gawd Above" on the air a couple of times. Love the album and wanted to be sure to spread the word when it came out, and it did yesterday. The link in the picture below takes you to the album's Amazon page, where you can hear samples of the songs. Music doesn't hit me good and strong this often, so when it does, I've gotta share!
